David Nevue in Concert

We were so priviliged to have front row seats and see David Nevue in Concert at Hibernia Baptist Church in Fleming Islandwhere he played especially for homeschoolers.
David Nevue is a self taught pianist who began playing at the age of 20. He has written numerous compositions and has released 9 cd's. He relies heavily on the Bible for inspiration for his music while his travels and family also heavily influence his compositions. We were so blessed to sit under his music and speak with him.

Baker County Sherriff's Office

Baker County Sherriff's Office

Friday, January 21st we had the privilege of touring the Baker County Sheriff's Complex.  We were able to view most components of the Sheriff's office that make up the complex.  This state of the art facility included  a "Natural Disaster" command center within the complex.  The kids were able to view the dispatch center where 911 calls are received.  We were led down long hallways, many offices, the visitation center,  and allowed  to the front door of the jail.  Many questions were asked and answered by the kind and professional staff.

A very special thank you from the children of Raiford Road Church for allowing us to tour your facility and for your kindness during our time there.  May God bless each and everyone of you!

Macclenny's Nursing and Rehab Center:

The homeschoolers of RRC had the privilege of ministering to the elderly.  Handcrafted cards delivering the message of Christ's love were handed out to the residents.  The children sang Christmas carols and gave lots of love and hugs!

Ministry Project

The Care Center

Friday, October 8th, 2010 was our very first ministry/service project.  We had the privilege of volunteering at our local Care Center which donates clothing free of charge to the needy.  Those seeking clothing leave with something far more valuable.  The Gospel is presented to each and every person who enters the door.  Here, each individual is counseled and both spiritual and physical needs are met.  We had the opportunity to serve and sort clothing for those locally, and those living in Honduras.

Pictured below:  Our older volunteers sorting and organizing.

Our younger volunteers.

A look inside of the care center.

And the sorting continues.........

A very special thank you to Peggy Gatlin and Sue Quinely for hosting our RRC children and to all of the volunteers who make the Care Center possible.

Prayer Meeting

Just a friendly reminder.  Our monthly prayer meeting will be Tuesday October 12th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the coffee house.  The YMCA will be here at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a physical fitness program for homeschoolers.  Looking forward to a time of fellowship and prayer.  Hope to see you there.

Fire Station Field Trip!

RRC First Annual Fire Station Field Trip

Here are a few pictures from Fire Station #1, downtown Jacksonville, Fl. There were over 30 kids in attendance! We had a wonderful field trip and would like to say a special thank you to Captain Trevor Nelson and all of the firemen who daily risk their lives to ensure our safety.

Pictured below is a fireman who demonstrated
the fire suit in its entirety.

The kids were able experience a "real firehose" firsthand.
Our thanks to Captain Nelson.

Pictured below is a demonstration of the ladder truck. The ladder extends to 100 ft.

We were privileged to tour the fire museum at Metro Park, downtown Jacksonville. This is a 204 yr old firetruck!
